CLYDE PARK WEDDING || LAURA & CHRIS

Wedding Highlights

Geelong Wedding Videography

It was a classic Melbourne summer day—hot, dry, buzzing with excitement. Laura and Chris tied the knot at the beautiful Clyde Park in the Geelong region, a place that means a lot to both of them. Surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, it felt like the perfect setting for a day that was all about love, laughter, and their people.

Spending quality time with family and close friends was what mattered most to them—and the whole day felt like one big heartfelt celebration.

The Backstory

This is one of those love stories that could only happen in the modern world—with a decent Wi-Fi connection and a bit of lockdown chaos. During one of Melbourne’s many (many) lockdowns, Laura was on a mission to brush up on her Spanish. Chris replied to her language exchange post, and they ended up having a three-hour Zoom date, complete with wine. That was the start.

From there, things moved fast. So fast that Laura had already booked wedding venue viewings before they were officially engaged. She had a pretty good feeling about this guy. And to be fair, she wasn’t wrong.

Chris and Laura are a great example of opposites that somehow just work. Laura, who’d never watched a game of cricket, became the Parkville Wombats’ most passionate scorekeeper (with her own colour-coding system, of course). Meanwhile, Chris—who once claimed not to be into musicals—became a Broadway regular and a big fan of Laura’s comedy revues at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

They balance each other out in all the right ways. Laura brings the energy, the big ideas, the chaos (in the best way). Chris brings the calm, the planning, the logic to make sure those ideas actually happen.

The Proposal

When they were living in Toronto, Chris planned a little weekend trip to a place called Collingwood (not the one in Victoria). A cute town, nice hike, all very romantic… until Laura became convinced there were bears nearby. She even stopped a couple of locals on the trail to ask—only to be reminded that she was from the land of the most dangerous animals on Earth.

Crisis averted, they continued the walk and found a quiet mossy spot in the forest—now known as Laura’s Cove. It was there that Chris got down on one knee. No panic. No bears. Just the perfect moment.

The Wedding

Their day had everything—emotion, banter, killer views, good food, and a whole lot of dancing. The ceremony (led by the lovely Jorgia Brown) hit all the right notes, and the speeches had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure. Clyde Park gave the perfect backdrop, and every detail felt very "them."

We were lucky to be part of it—capturing all the big and small moments as their wedding videographer in Melbourne and Geelong. Laura wore an elegant gown by Whyte Couture, the flowers by The Posie Place were stunning, and Ethan Conway’s music kept the good vibes going all day.

Their wedding film is coming together now, and we can't wait to share it soon. Teaser first, of course.
