Studley Park Boathouse Wedding Videography
There’s something truly special about a love story that starts with friendship. For Ashleigh and Ruairi, their journey began 14 years ago through mutual friends. Back then, they were just two people in other relationships who found comfort and joy in each other’s company. Over the years, their bond deepened, and in 2020, amidst the quiet of a lockdown, their first kiss changed everything. Ruairi became one of the rare few to graduate from the "friend zone"
The Venue That Felt Like Home
Studley Park Boathouse wasn’t just a venue; it was a reflection of who Ashleigh and Ruairi are as a couple. Drawn to the calming allure of water—whether rivers, lakes, or the ocean—they wanted a setting that was intimate and serene. On their first visit, they knew it felt right. After sharing the experience with family and friends, the decision became unanimous: The Perch at Studley Park Boathouse was "the one." With its understated charm and riverside views, it was a space that spoke to their love story, even evoking memories of Ashleigh’s favorite film, The Notebook.
A Day of Heartfelt Moments
The wedding day was woven with personal touches and unforgettable moments. Ashleigh and Ruairi’s beloved Groodle, Fred, took on the esteemed role of Best Dog. Standing beside Ruairi during the ceremony, Fred even left his paw print on the marriage certificate (not the official one, of course).
Ashleigh’s prep students brought tears of joy as they surprised her at the ceremony, handing her a flower after she walked down the aisle. Adding to the familial warmth, Ruairi’s brother Michael Lean, a wedding photographer and close friend of the couple, stood proudly as Best Man while his daughter stole hearts as the flower girl.
The Notebook Magic
For Ashleigh and Ruairi, The Notebook was more than just a movie—it was a theme that wove through their wedding day. From a romantic photo in a rowboat to heartfelt quotes incorporated into the ceremony—beautifully delivered by the lovely celebrant Susan Rash—and the speeches, the inspiration added a touch of cinematic magic to an already perfect day.
A Relaxed Celebration
Ashleigh and Ruairi’s vision for the day was clear—they wanted their guests to feel at ease. From parents enjoying a rare night off to friends mingling over good music, their wedding was about celebrating love in the most authentic way. It wasn’t just a wedding; it was a heartfelt gathering of chosen family, filled with joy and laughter.
